Recognizing Outstanding Educators in Spring Branch ISD
In SBISD, we believe a student's success starts with a great teacher. When you combine a great teacher and student...great things are going to happen! Research shows that an inspired and informed teacher is the most important school-related influence that can positively impact student achievement.A teacher's influence can last a lifetime. How many of us still remember that one favorite teacher we had...or how his/her passion for a subject inspired us to take an extra class or even choose a particular career? Teachers engage students in learning, expand the possibilities, build futures and turn dreams into realities.
Some of the most inspiring and action-oriented people go into education as their life's work. We thank all our teachers for the work they do every day in classrooms around our school district.
The SBISD Teacher of the Year Competition
- Campus Teachers of the Year (TOYs) compete in our district TOY Competition, managed by the SBISD Communications Department. A TOY Committee will select three Elementary and three Secondary campus TOYs as our District Teacher of the Year Finalists. The winners in each category will be named at the annual SBISD Employee Service Awards held in May. Additionally, all campus TOYs are recognized at the SBEF Bright Stars Event.
- Our Elementary and Secondary SBISD Teachers of the Year represent us in Region IV Competition – the next step to State and National Teacher of the Year. They also represent us in the Houston West Chamber TOY Competition.
SBISD Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year will be awarded:
- $1000 cash award, made possible by partner donations
- $2000 professional growth stipend provided by the district.
