In his own
words…
“I
think part of showing love for students is caring enough to make then
disciplined, responsible students. I have high levels of expectations for my
students and though there may be a learning curve for some, they end up meeting
the expectations and, as a result, they feel better about themselves and are
able to accomplish more. To accept anything less than their personal best is to
do a disservice to them and to keep them from reaching their full potential.”
In the words
of others…
“Each
kid is important to Charles. . . He is the most demanding teacher in our
school, and the kids respond [to him] in a very receptive way. When kids do not
do well on tests or quizzes, Charles goes back to the drawing board to see what
needs to be retaught for the entire class, or he will meet the needs of each
individual student.”
–Keith
Cripps,Spring
Woods High Campus Athletic Director and Head Football Coach
“Charles
Reed represents more than a teacher . . . he is a role model, father figure,
SBISD graduate, and a T-2-4 counselor. When observing Charles’ room, it is
evident that he believes in both the value of his students as human beings as
well as the power of his students as learners.”
