In her own words . . .
“I don’t think my class looks or sounds like what math class has historically been. I use YouTube for warm-ups, where kids come up with questions. We fold paper into fractional pieces and then make artistic designs, we write and share stories about a family of fractions that move to a new neighborhood and must convert to decimals in order to fit in. We turn and talk, debate, and make webs with our new fancy math vocabulary. We embrace the mantra that math is flexible and math is creative. In my classroom, gone are the days where there is one way to attack a problem. I guess you could say I’m serious about finding ways to inspire my students to learn.”
“Courtney is known for innovation, creativity, and keen knowledge of best practices that will ignite her students. Her technique incorporates strategies specifically designed to meet the needs of all learners whether they need auditory, visual, or kinesthetic approaches. The structure of her rapport with students, parents and colleagues invites participation and establishes an atmosphere of openness.”

“Courtney Post has left an indelible impression on both of my girls. She took the time to study their previous and current grades, test scores, and personal learning habits. Knowing their strengths and weaknesses, she tailored her instruction to their needs.”
- Marla Lineberry, Valley Oaks Elementary Parent
